Hailey Gundersen is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Bachelor’s in Economics with a minor in Accounting from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Prior to co-founding Chinook Accounting, Hailey expanded her professional acumen and tax planning knowledge by working under a nationally recognized CPA. Here at Chinook Accounting she provides tax compliance services utilizing this expertise. She has a demonstrated history of improving accounting processes and implementing cost-saving measures that have helped her clients to achieve their financial goals.
Outside of her professional work, Hailey serves as a mentor and advisor for young professionals in the accounting field and coaches a local high school tennis team. She cares deeply for her community and volunteers as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Breast Cancer Detection Center of Alaska. She enjoys traveling with her husband, coaching tennis, and spending summer days at the lake with her family and their dogs, Bentley and Mikko.
Caitlin Deutsch (CPA eligible) is an accomplished accounting professional with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Portland. Before co-founding Chinook Accounting, she started her career in auditing as part of the Big 4 firm, KPMG, where she serviced fortune 500 companies and startups. Throughout her career, Caitlin has demonstrated a passion for excellence, a collaborative approach to problem-solving, and a strong commitment to delivering results for her clients. With her expertise in accounting and her dedication to outstanding service, Caitlin is well-equipped to help her clients achieve their financial goals and support long-term success.
In addition to her work in the accounting industry, Caitlin is a dedicated volunteer to her community. She coaches a local high school tennis team, organizes annual service projects, and served on the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Finance Committee for four years. In her free time, she enjoys Alaskan summers, skiing in the winter, spending time with her family, and supporting local businesses whenever she can.
Kaira Lum-Slane began her career as an administrative assistant at a small CPA firm, where she discovered a passion for bookkeeping that set the course for her professional journey. Through dedication and a commitment to mastering her craft, she advanced steadily, building expertise that continues to fuel her success. Certified in QuickBooks Online and a Certified Partner in RUN Powered by ADP for Partners, Kaira brings strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in bookkeeping to every role she undertakes. Her organizational skills and dedication to maintaining detailed and accurate records ensure her success in both administrative and accounting roles.
Outside of the office, Kaira enjoys outdoor adventures such as hiking, boating, and exploring new places. She is passionate about traveling and cherishes time spent with her beloved dogs.
